18 Malaysia Companies in Year 2010 Forbes Global 2000 List
The Forbes Global 2000 are the biggest, most powerful listed companies in the world. Forbes uses an equal weighting of sales, profits, assets and market value to rank companies according to size.
This year (2010), 18 Malaysia companies are in the Forbes 2000 list. The companies are as below,
Out of the 18 companies, banking sectors make up of around 33% with 6 banks in the list. The number of Government Linked Companies (GLCs) is 10 and the other 8 companies are the private sector companies.
Compared to Year 2009 Forbes The World's Biggest Companies list, Malaysia companies' number had decreased one from 19 to 18.
Maxis is the new comer in this year 2010 Forbes 2000 list whereas Telekom Malaysia and KL Kepong that were listed in the 2009 Forbes 2000 list but this year is not in the list.
This year CIMB ranking is 493 compared to last year ranking of 705 and is the highest among the Malaysia companies.
